Top Ten Tuesday Turns 10!
Option 1: pick a past TTT topic you’ve done and re-do/update it (Perhaps you’d remove certain books you put on the list back when you first wrote it, or perhaps you have 10 MORE books you’d add to that list now. You could also re-visit TBR posts, whether seasonal or series you need to finish, etc., and tell us if you’ve read them yet or not. Any variation of this idea works. Feel free to be creative.) Option 2: pick a past TTT topic you wish you’d done, but didn’t get a chance to do .
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in.
One of the choices for option 2 was Series I Don’t Plan to Finish/Series I’d Like to Catch Up On, I’ve got about 1 million started series, give or take, so this one really jumped up at me.
Series I’d Like to Catch Up On
The Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold
I’ve only read 3 books in this series so far but it’s already one of my favorites ever. I love the character, the writing, the pacing, just how clever it is, everything.
The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles
I will definitely be reading more of this hot witty romance with a great setting and such fun characters.
Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren
This was my introduction to the cosy mystery genre, and it was so sweet, I’m planning to go back to it for sure.
Strange Practice by Vivian Shaw
I read the first book for bookclub last year and I really liked both the murder mystery and the idea of having a doctor main character.
Abhorsen by Garth Nix
I loved the idea of good necromancers, and I’m told book 2 in the series, Lirael, has a dog.
Series I’m not so sure about
Temeraire by Naomi Novik
I read the first few books as they came out and loved them, but I heard the series loses steam at some point. I also only so vaguely remember what happened that I’d be all confusion. But on the other hand I do need more giant dragons in my life.
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
I heard that the latest book is very good, but heartbreaking, and I haven’t been in the mood for sad books in a long time.
Lightbringer by Brent Weeks
I noticed online that people were not happy with the ending to this series. I haven’t looked at the spoilers, but I might check that out before giving the final book a try.
Series I don’t plan to finish
Craddle by Will Wight and Jhereg by Steven Burst
I picked up the first book in both of these series this year, based on their popularity and being close enough to what I generally like. Oh boy did neither of them click with me.
I hope you catch up on all of these series soon.
My TTT.
I have most of this series on my TBR, but I have finished two of them, Red Rising (at least the first Trilogy) and it hurts, that’s true, but I loved this series so much!! And The Magpie Lord, I loved the first book and enjoyed the others, but they were good nonetheless, I hope you would enjoy them too!
I love series, but I so often get stuck in the middle of them! I can’t even begin to list all the ones that I’m stuck in right now. Ugh. I really shouldn’t even start reading a series until it’s finished – that way I can just binge-read the whole thing.
Good luck playing catch up. Happy TTT!
Susan
