To help narrow it down, I’m going with authors I’ve heard enough good things to make me seek out their books, rather than books on my TBR where I know more about the book than the author. I’m not sure if that distinction makes sense to people outside my brain.
This post is what happens when you want to have a blog post but aren’t having a words day:
Fonda Lee – The Greenbone Saga – fantasy crime families sound super fun, and I’ve heard only excellent things about this series, but it’s a chonker and that means I need to work up my courage (this will be a recurring theme)
T. Frohock – Los Nefilim – some of my friends love her, and I keep meaning to read the books, but just bad planning
R.F. Kuang – Babel -while the The Poppy War sounded like extremly not my thing, Babel seems much more up my alley
Tanith Lee – she has so many books, I picked Lycanthia randomly in a used bookshop, we’ll see how it goes
S.B. Divya – Machinehood – I know her from editing/twitter and this is our New Voices book club pick this month, so gonna try to get to it soon!
L.D. Lewis – Ruin of Shadows – I love her from FIYAH and FIYAHCON so very interested in her book
Janny Wurts – Wars of Light and Shadow – is a great and thoughtful poster on r/fantasy, but again, book so long
Nisi Shawl – Everfair- she’s part of a project called Writing the Other which I find very interesting, and the premise of this book is right up my alley
Premee Mohamed – And What Can We Offer You Tonight – I’ve seen her on a lot of panel and I have a bunch of her novellas on my TBR, this one was the pretttiest cover
Sofia Samatar – The Winged Histories- I heard her writing is beautiful
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in.
I hope you enjoy reading all of these authors!

I haven’t read any of these authors. I hope you love all of these authors when you get to them.
Pretty sweet list. If you’re up for a shorter intro to Janny Wurts, maybe have a looksie at Sorcerer’s Legacy (I’d offer to send my copy but I think I already gave it away).
Janny Wurts is an author that I had on my TBR since forever, or so it seems! But on my last bookish shopping spree I bought the first book in her series so maybe her time its near!!
I would also like to read T. Frohock someday. I highly recommend the Green Bone Saga, although I haven’t finished the series yet.
Okay, no matter how long the book is, I PROMISE that Fonda Lee is absolutely worth reading. JADE CITY is utterly fantastic and the length wasn’t felt at all (personally) because I just couldn’t stop reading.
I feel the same way about RF Kuang’s books – I’m looking forward to giving Babel a shot!
