Autumn Tag: Sweater Weather

Autumn Tag Jenniely

ahem … I began this three weeks ago, and got stuck on the last question, cause the only answer I could think of was the one that Keikii mentioned, and then got travelling and completely forgot. So this is from past Dia

—–

This tag was originally created by Jenn @ Jenniely. I was tagged by Keikii @ Keikii Eats Books who was saying about how hot it is where she lives, and I get it, I had to come inside today because it was too hot outside to read in the sun. It’s been over 25°C here all week and more of the same forecast for next week. It’s chilly in the morning thought so that means it’s “forget your sweater at work again” weather for me. (– present Dia, it’s still 17 -20 in the middle of the day here, in mid November! — )

Autumn Hot Chocolate Tag

1. Hot Chocolate – what is your comfort book?

I’m in a weird spot with comfort reads atm. I’ve got books like Long Way Too Small Angry Planet that sound like my perfect comfort books, so even though I haven’t read them I’m saving them for when I will need a comfort read. I’m also planning a slow reread of the Discworld series for comfort, a book every few months.

Autumn Pumpkin Tag

2. Pumpkin Carving – what is your favourite creative outlet?

Clothes and cosplay design for sure. My favourite part about sewing is figuring out the design, how to fit it all together and get it as close to what I’m picturing as possible.

Autumn Leaves

3. Falling Leaves – changes that appear bad but you secretly love?

I’m pretty anxious in general, so I tend to freak out about all changes at first. I guess giving up on something you’ve sunk time and effort but you weren’t enjoying can suck at first but it frees up time and mental space for other things.

Autumn pumpkin Spiced latte

4. Pumpkin Spiced Latte – something you love that others tend to judge

Staying in and going to bed early on a weekend. Getting that rest feels amazing

Autumn bonfire

5. Bonfire Night – what makes you explode with joy?

When something I’ve been working on starts coming together and looks like a something other than a pile of scraps. I’ll just stop and admire it for ages.

Autumn creepy pumpkin skulls candles

6. Fright Night – favourite scary book or film

My favourite scary story is The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I remember there was an episode with it in Scooby Doo when I was 5 or 6 and I couldn’t sleep all night cause of it. Ever since I’ve really liked the story in any incarnation.

Autumn Halloween Candy

7. Halloween candy – favourite thing to eat

Not original but chocolate, just gimme anything with chocolate. I’m currently calorie counting, so gimme anything with chocolate that’s at most 300 calories per serving, and let me know in the morning that’s it’s gonna be coming so I can plan accordingly.

Autumn Scarf accessiories

8. Scarves – your autumn ‘must have’ accessory

Thinish jackets over thick sweaters. I like to layer it up cause I’m always thermically unadjusted so I love having the option to switch my layers around at different times of day.

Books on Fire Autumn

9. Fire – a book or film that burns your soul

Most recent book that really did things to me was Vita Nostra by Marina Dyachenko and Sergey Dyachenko. It’s weird and pretty disturbing, kept me up at night but I loved it all the way through.

autumn-toffee-apples

10. Toffee apples – a book or film that seems one thing but really has a different inside

— present Dia jumping in —

It’s less that it seems one thing by itself but rather the info that I remembered about it before reading did not paint a complete picture. For some reason I was expecting The Last Sun by KD Edwards to be a sweet secondary world, medievalish, low fantasy romance, so I was very pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be an action packed hard magic high fantasy contemporary urban story.

It’s probably too late for this but I already miss Halloween so I tag Morgan @ The Book Wyrm
