Friday Face Off: Planets

November is #SciFiMonth, hosted by Imyril @One More and Lisa @Dear Geek Place.I thought it was about time I did a Friday Face Off, and since today’s theme is Planets – “You’re on Earth. There’s no cure for that” it seemed an obvious choices. Friday Face Off is hosted by Lynn at Lynn’s Book Blog.

I may be doing this a little wrong because The Vanished Birds by Simon Jimenez only has 2 covers, but it’s where my mind instantly went because of how different these two covers are:

51289108. sy475

45422268. sy475

It’s like they’re made for different books, but they both somehow fit the actual book perfectly. It is basically about traveling through space in a space ship, but it’s also twisty and highly conceptual.

For picking a favorite, I’m kinda torn, I’m biased towards the blue one, published by Titan Books , cause that’s the one I’ve got, though the pink one, published by Del Rey Books, is the one that initially drew me to the book.

What do you think?

Sometimes I only show two covers, it just depends on the book! Great choice, I didn’t even know this book was set in space because I’ve only seen the Del Rey cover, which is my favorite😁

I didn’t know either! I wanted to get it cause a friend had liked, but didn’t remember the details, then went to order it and was confused by all the space on the cover. I ended up liking it so it worked out

  2. I’m not naturally drawn to scifi, so the second cover is the one that would catch my eye in a bookshop! That’s neat that both covers fit the story even though they’re so different.

Yeah that’s the one I saw first too. I read some sci fi but reeaaaaally spaced out between my fantasy books
