I’m linking up with The Sunday Post, hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. and The Sunday Salon, hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

Goings-On

Last week I said “I’ve fallen monumentally behind on blog posts, reviews and blog hopping” little did I know that this week would be even worse. We’ve got a shitty situation at work that’s left me drained, and a few zoom calls that were very stressful. I’ve been a mess the entire week, behind on all my plans, not even done my very light sportsting, didn’t even look at the blog. I did manage to finish up my review of Soulstar yesterday though it’s far from coherent I think it gets the point across.

Minecraft – our little port town is coming along nicely. Bf finally came over to help (he’d been at the old base for ages saying yeah I’ll be right there) This is my life now.

Port town:

The big building in the center is our town hall, and off to the right I’m going to build a church. I dunno how religious my villagers are but churches are fun to build.

I’m really excited about how we gathered every kind of tree in the game, looks wild, love it.

Little oversized picnic area. I really love our pirate’s cave skull with the flaming eyes.

We have a villager from each available profession, they’re chilling, mostly getting stuck in places.

Little dormitory building

Underwater themed bar is very colorful. Went on an adventure and got lots of tropical fish and corals.

Cosy little area where I park some of my pets.

Our massive farms, looks like our pigs got lighting struck and spawned Zombified Piglins, I like having them there too.

Books read

Finished Elemental by Whitney Hill. It’s an urban fantasy that mixes vampires, elves, djinn, elemental, werewolves and other creatures.  It’s got a lot of great reviews but for me something didn’t work, just too many elements that it stayed at a constant “fine” level but never really captured me.

I’ll probably finish Imaro by Charles Saunders today, really enjoying it and I’ll probably want to continue the series. I’m loving the dark evil sorcery.

Started The Four Profound Weaves by RB Lemberg, it’s this month Mod Book Club pick. I’m really enjoying it but also not read a whole lot for reasons that are Minecraft.

  1. I’m sorry work has been so difficult lately. Sometimes it feels wonderful to escape. I had no idea that Minecraft was a city-building game. It reminds me of one of my old favorites, Sim City. I wonder if that is still around.

I hope things resolve themselves in a good way at your work and you are able to get back to your books.

Thank you. I’m really enjoying Minecraft, it’s got a good mix of building and going on adventures to get fancier materials. And animals, I want to go tame some pandas and rabbits.

  2. Tammy says:

I hope your work situation gets better🙄 And I love your Minecraft rooms and buildings! I can see how you’d rather do that than read😁 Have a good week!

    1. Dianthaa says:

Thank you! Yeah, it’s just easier for me to focus on for now. But now I’ve fallen behind on ARCs, and I ONLY HAVE 3 OF THEM

  3. sjhigbee says:

It must be horrible when the work situation gets toxic and instead of sitting in the office – you’re in your own home! So difficult to get away, so yay for Minecraft as an escape chute to another dimension:)). I hope the nastiness calms down soon and this is a kinder week:)).

    1. Dianthaa says:

Well this week was just as busy, but slightly less stressful as there was more working towards a solution. So that’s something at least.

      1. sjhigbee says:

Well, I’m glad to hear it! I hope the healthier atmosphere prevails – it’s so important, particularly when everyone is working so hard.

  4. Lisa Mandina says:

The Minecraft stuff looks cool! I haven’t been playing Animal Crossing as much now that I’ve pretty much done all the stuff that I need to. It was a crazy busy week at work for me as well. Hope your week goes better this week!

    1. Dianthaa says:

Thank you! Yeah, kinda running out of plans for what to do in Minecraft, but I still need to get some pandas and rabbits, so that’s a fun goal for next week.

  5. Vicki says:

So sorry your week was so tough & hope this week is better. I think my grown sons play Minecraft.

    1. Dianthaa says:

Thank you! I always thought it was a kid’s game, but really it’s so relaxing, I could never do this much gardening and building in real life!

  6. Cyndy says:

I hope that things improve at work for you. Have a nice week!

    1. Dianthaa says:

      Thank you!

  7. Sorry about your week, but glad you found some escapes. First books in UF can be hard, I see the series continues to get high ratings. I remember thinking the first book of the Kate Daniels series was just ok.

    1. Dianthaa says:

I didn’t know that about UF, I think I’ve only read 3-4 series, that certainly makes me more interested to continue.

  8. Victoria Hamel says:

Hope you have a better week this week. I love the details of your Minecraft village!

    1. Dianthaa says:

      Thank you!
