Wyrd and Wonder: Top Ten Tuesday: Full Sentence Titles

3:54 pm | | Comments 6

I thought this was a really fun prompt, and I’m a bit surprised how far I had to check back to get 10 fantasy books with full sentence titles. Also realized I’m not so sure what a full sentence means, I hope I did this right.

  1. We Lie With Death (The Reborn Empire #2) by Devin Madson
  2. We Ride the Storm by Devin Madson
  3. Turning Darkness Into Light (The Memoirs of Lady Trent #6) by Marie Brennan
  4. Kalpa Imperial: The Greatest Empire That Never Was (Kalpa Imperial #1-2) by Angélica Gorodischer, Ursula K. Le Guin (Translator)
  5. The Girl Who Married a Skull: and Other African Stories (Cautionary Fables & Fairytales) by Kel McDonald, Kate Ashwin, Charlie Spike Trotman
  6. Even Tree Nymphs Get the Blues (Mystic Bayou #2.5) by Molly Harper
  7. Senlin Ascends (The Books of Babel #1) by Josiah Bancroft
  8. The Djinn Falls in Love & Other Stories by Mahvesh Murad, Jared Shurin
  9. They Mostly Come Out at Night (Yarnsworld #1) by Benedict Patrick
  10. The Cat Who Walked a Thousand Miles by Kij Johnson

The Girl Who Married a Skull and Other Stories looks good!

    My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-book-titles-that-are-complete-sentences/

  2. Greg says:

They Mostly Come Out At Night- a cool (and chilling) title. We Ride The storm is fun too!

  3. Great list! The Girl Who Married a Skull sounds so interesting, and I keep meaning to give Turning Darkness into Light a try.

Sorry I’m so late to this post. This is a wonderful list, and gave me so many new recs. I’d have thought that within SFF, there aren’t many book titles which also read as full sentences — your post shows that there are several! 🙂

  5. Olivia-Savannah says:

I love long full sentence titles. They are my favourite kind! I think the one I like here most is the girl who married a skull. One I recently read and enjoyed was will my cat eat my eyeballs?

  6. Dianthaa says:

And will it? My cat is untrustworthy to say the least, I don’t want to have to worry that she’s planning to eat my eyeballs too
