Goings-On

Not so much bookish acitivity for the past two weeks because I finished The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and I ended up konmaring all the things! It’s been great, I knew I was hanging on to a lot of stuff that needed to go, but I hadn’t realized how much. And I have actually been super tidy since then. I still need to sort a lot of stuff that’s left at my dad’s place, but planning that for next weekend as I was super tired and needed a break.

And by break I mean starting a new workout routine and gving myself mad DOMS. I started this from Hybrid Calistenics, I think I just saw one of the videos on Twitter and the dude is so nice and encouraging and decided to look him up and turns out the routine is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to follow and keep track of, beginner friendly and can scale up. But ouch, those squats were not as easy as they looked.

I’m participating in Wyrd and Wonder, Asian Readathon and A LOT of Book Clubs and Readalongs on r/Fantasy this month. To check out the Wyrd and Wonder post, which are great,  I use the Master Schedule to browse.

The Bone Shard Daughter – Wyrd and Wonder Readalong

This is my first time participating in a readalong through blogging, so excuse me if I get it wrong. There’s also a Goodreads Discussion for it.

Going to spoiler tag the discussion. I missed last week’s so I might make a little mix of the questions. Spoilers up to 78%/chapter 36 of the ebook, because I forgot to stop. Big spoilers esp from the last few ch.

Comments

  1. When I see the Marie Kondo book, I shudder a little, lol. I am not ready to give up my extra stuff, now that I finally have a few old and new favorites in my tiny space. I am definitely saying that my things “give me joy.” LOL.

Enjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  2. Tammy says:

I need to tidy up, maybe I should read Kondo’s book😁 Have a good week!

  3. “the emperor needs a good stabbing”

This may be the best one line review for the set-up of this book 😂

  4. Cleaning definitely does not spark joy for me 🙂

Wishing you a great reading week

  5. Greg says:

I love all the Readalongs that are going on! I need to check some of these out., and yes to clearing out. My mom had surgery and as she recovers I’ve been cleaning out a lot of her stuff that she doesn’t want anymore- it can be very liberating!

  6. Oh, I totally went through that when I read Tidying Up as well—it’s great inspiration to get things in order!

  7. Dianthaa says:

I had so much stuff that I was keeping and was just making me feel bad because I’d gotten them for a thing that I ended up not doing, or similar. And really a lot of junk, boxes of stuff I meant to sort through someday that turned out to be just fully junk.

  8. Dianthaa says:

It might not work for everyon but the book was super effective for me!

  9. Dianthaa says:

I’ve turned into this weird person that keeps looking for things for tidy now! I’m surprised how real the change has been in me, I hope it sticks!

  10. Dianthaa says:

I still haven’t managed to take everything to the appropiate recyling places (why must they be spread out all over the city) but I do feel so much freer! And knowing where everything is when I need it is a new and wonderous feeling

  11. Dianthaa says:

I’ve never before known where all my stuff is, this is wonderful, and I find myself being super tidy so wins all around!

  12. OOOH that witstone theory is an intriguing one. Your theorizing on the question about Sand was pretty spot on, hey, haha, now that I’m reading this after having finished the book.
