Cosplay: Sakura from Naruto

Sakura from Naruto was my first crafted cosplay, back in 2013. I’m so glad I’ve got such clear, well lighted pictures of her /sarcasm. It’s nice to see how far cell-phone pictures have come though.

It was the first sewing I did, and I’m still super proud I managed to attach a zipper with no proper training. I did do a test run for the top, as I’d never even sewn before, but happy to report I had no wardrobe malfunctions! The circle on the bag is just cut out from interfacing fabric and stuck on. And a lot of the accessories are repurposed, for instance a cell-phone belt-holder repurposed as a leg pouch, and the other pouch is a really tiny purse that I still use.

I dyed the wig myself, it was not pretty, and it’s now stiff enough to stand up by itself!

I really recommend trying out Sakura if you’re thinking of a beginner-friendly cosplay! She was lots of fun, and meeting so many other characters from Naruto at the convention was a blast!

If you liked this Cosplay of Sakura from Naruto, check out some of my other, more complex cosplays:

What was your first cosplay? If you haven’t done any, which would you start with?

Great blog! A Naruto sweatshirt is the perfect way to stay cozy while showing off your love for the series. Whether it’s a design featuring Naruto himself or the Hidden Leaf Village symbol, these sweatshirts are such a stylish way to rep the anime. I’ve been looking for the perfect Naruto sweatshirt myself, and this post gave me some great ideas. Thanks for sharing such awesome tips
