Sailor Mercury and Sailor Moon were my first really big cosplay projects, I made them with a friend. We did not know what we chewed off. I remember I made 3 test skirts before settling on the final pattern. And we finished up our gloves in the hotel room before the con, our fingers ended up quite bloody because that piping fabric was far too thick!
Hotel room was a complete mess but luckily the cleaning staff were very fond of our costumes. First time walking on the street in cosplay and using public transport, lots of odd stares but also lots of ‘that was my favorite character!’
The attack of the old blurry photos continues
The convention was a lot of fun, and it was great being with friend in costume as I was a lot less shy about interacting with other people.
We made so many tests while working on our costumes, those skirts are short and we were very concerned with everything staying in its assigned place! The body was double-layered thick lycra, which was a pain to put on but did a good job of containing our tummies and staying put.
