Elsa from Frozen Cosplay

My hardest and most insane project to date. With no training and nothing to go one but internet tutorials I set out to make a full gown.

This was so structurally sound, that’s a pretty light corset that stays up by itself and carries the weight of the dress + cape.  And it was not that uncomfy to wear, no riding up or down, just having to sit very awkwardly.

I modified the pattern from a dress with a much bigger skirt. And had 2 layers, with the corset and skirt separate on the inside.

I painted (with a brush) my fabric in the most inefficient messy way. Silk’s expensive yo, and I’d bought too little, so in order for my gradient to match up I had to cut it before coloring it. And then because it’s crepe it shrank, well the texture got a lot tighter, from the water, and I had to get it back to shape again.

I used nail polish on the ice crystals

And silicone, the kind used as plumbing sealant, on the shoes, that was smelly.
